Shootout at Sanderson Stables

Picture
At fifteen, Angela Sanderson lost her in a tragic accident. Over the next two years, her brothers neglected the business, and eventually ran off most of their customers. Without customers, income dwindled to what little was left plus that of a part-time job held by her oldest brother. When they started talking about selling off chunks of land, Angie woke from her depression to see just how bad things had gotten, and she decided she wanted to revive the family business – it was all she had left of her parents.

Sounds simple, right? Not yet

First problem: she wasn't old enough. Second problem: there was no way her brother would sign over anything.

She went to her parents' banker first, and he promised to help her all he could, but really, there was little he could do. What she learned there, however, sent her to the police station, where she learned that her second brother had quite an arrest record. The police sergeant she spoke to at the station took her to see the family lawyer; she didn't even realize her family had a lawyer.

George was able to get her the papers she needed to become an adult early, and with her brother in jail for possession, and possibly sales, she had the space to do what she needed to do.

Not so bad. Simple, right? Not yet

A man came by, demanding money. Apparently her brothers were in debt. Who knew?

That was only the beginning. Friends appeared out of the woodwork, but someone powerful had taken out a contract on her head, and they didn't care if it was still attached to her shoulders. Angela was just a simple horse person; she didn't know anything about drugs or contracts, but it would seem she wasn't to be eliminated easily.

What would you do if someone came gunning for you? Would you shoot back, or would you run and hide? Angie opted for shooting back.
